From Dakar to Helsinki
I was born and raised in Dakar, where food is not just something you eat — it’s how people connect, share, and live together. That’s where I learned the meaning of hospitality without even realizing it.
My journey then took me to Italy. There, I discovered discipline, precision, and respect for ingredients. I trained, worked, and pushed myself to understand cuisine at a deeper level — not only how to cook, but why we cook the way we do.
Years later, I arrived in Finland. A completely different culture, different products, different rhythm. Instead of adapting only, I chose to build something that brings everything together.
Nomad was born from that idea.
A cuisine that reflects movement — between Africa, Italy, and the Nordics. A place where traditions meet, evolve, and create something new without losing their roots.
Today in Helsinki, Nomad is more than a restaurant. It is an expression of my journey, my influences, and my belief that food can connect cultures, people, and ideas.

A broader vision
Beyond the restaurant, my work is also driven by a long-term vision: contributing to the evolution of food culture in West Africa — through education, local products, and new opportunities for the next generation.
